Northeast Florida Skywarn Net Preamble

 

QST, QST, QST – This is the Northeast Florida Sky warn Training Net. This is  ___________ and my name is ____________. I will be the net control station for this evening.  This net meets every Wednesday evening at 2030 hours local time on the KF4MX repeater located in St. Augustine, Florida. In the event of the failure of this repeater the alternate repeater frequency is 145.210 MHZ. 

 

The purpose of this net is to prepare Northeast Florida Skywarn Amateur Radio Spotters and their equipment for actual emergency situations and provide information of interest to the Amateur Radio Skywarn Spotter community.

 

This is a directed net. All stations will call the net control station before contacting another station.  When checking into the net, all stations are to speak clearly and distinctly and use ITU phonetics, IF NECESSARY, when giving their call sings.  Please wait one second before speaking after keying your microphone to prevent drops and missed letters.  Persons with Spotter ID#s, please provide the number as you check in.  Stations needing to leave the net after checking in are asked to call net control and advise you’re securing.

 

Is there a volunteer to act as back-up net control station? Please send your call sign.

Is the (your county only; ARES Emergency Coordinator on frequency?

 

Are there any District ECs on frequency?

 

Are there any mobile stations desiring to check in at this time?

 

Due to the wide area coverage of this repeater, spanning many counties, The NCO may elect to accept check-in’s BY COUNTY starting with theirs first.

Listed counties:  Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, St.Johns, Volusia.  This may be accomplished as follows:

 

 

Call the county’s name and take stations with suffixes Alpha through Golf.

 

Stations with suffixes Hotel through Oscar.

 

Stations with suffixes Papa through Zulu. 

 

Repeat process for each county called.

Remember to ask for their county, and Spotter ID # if not given.
